Baird Smith has served as Director of Preservation for Quinn Evans’ DC office for over 10 years. In the course of his 35-year career, he has specialized in preservation and rehabilitation projects involving historically significant structures. He has nationally-recognized expertise in a wide range of materials conservation issues and solutions, as well as preservation technology including energy conservation in historic buildings.
He has worked on over 20 National Historic Landmark properties and 600 buildings listed on the National Register — but one stands out for him as particularly challenging and fulfilling. “Our work on rehabilitating DC's Eastern Market following a catastrophic fire helped restore an iconic, central element of a unique community in our Nation’s Capital.”
