Brilliance Starts Small

Creative solutions, even at the smallest level, are necessary for achieving excellence in design. The most intricate details can evoke moments of brilliance and, when all of the pieces of a project fit together the way they should, one can truly see that the whole can actually be greater than the sum of its parts.

For this reason, I personally find my greatest success, and feel the greatest sense of accomplishment, when there are more details involved. Of course, in such cases, it’s even more important to keep an eye on the global picture of the project to ensure that it is coherent and balanced.

This basic philosophy guides me whether I’m working on existing or new buildings, on a big scale or small. Whatever the nature of one’s architectural statement, it has to make sense in its details, as well as within its context as a whole.
