QEA is currently designing a comprehensive interior and exterior rehabilitation of the Robert S. Vance Federal Building and Courthouse located in Birmingham, Alabama. Originally built in 1921 as a federal courthouse and post office, the Classic Revival building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This multi-phased expansion includes a new Justice Building to replace the aging city hall, and new public amenities, such as plazas, gardens, fountains and meeting areas.
QEA led the preservation and design for the comprehensive rehabilitation, repair and upgrades to the National Academies of Science headquarters building originally constructed in 1924
