In association with HOK and Tower Pinkster, QE|A served as part of the design team for the transformation of a 1930s power plant in downtown Lansing to create a national headquarters for the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America. The project includes 227,000 square feet in the historic power station and another 106,000 square feet in an addition. The project qualified for state and federal historic preservation tax credits.
