In a project that became a model for subsequent state capitol restorations, QEA oversaw the building’s exterior restoration and a complete interior restoration of its Executive Wing. In the process, we stripped away decades of inappropriate renovations to reveal a wealth of iconic decorative arts details. In addition to providing all the modern technology systems the staff required, we removed non-original construction elements, reinstalled appropriate furniture and accessories and relit the exterior to highlight the capitol’s refreshed façade.
