Old Executive Office Building

For decades, many important architectural aspects of this National Historic Landmark had been neglected. QEA conducted studies and analyses to determine the best stewardship approach for this one-of-a-kind federal building. Ultimately, we implemented a comprehensive restoration of its exterior, including repair and replacement of its 100,000 square-foot roof. Also included was the painstaking restoration of Theodore Roosevelt’s Office, including the replication of original decorative patterns and colors. Period antiques, obtained on loan from the Smithsonian Institution, completed the room’s decor.
