Located within a National Register historic district, this sprawling outdoor museum features 14 buildings and numerous exhibits interpreting the culture and history of the Chesapeake Bay. QEA has significantly enhanced the complex by rehabilitating and renovating historic structures and expanding other facilities. Most noteworthy is our work on “At Play on the Bay.” Designed to house exhibits demonstrating changes in use of the Bay from work to play, this new exhibit building incorporates vessels from the collection, and also provides greater public access to the waterfront.
