This sprawling public garden hosts diverse natural ecosystems with over 300 native plant species, and is the only of its kind on the Atlantic coast. QEA designed a new Shingle-style visitor and education center as a gateway into the gardens. The warm and welcoming facility, carefully integrated into the surrounding landscape, supports orientation and educational programs, and administrative functions. To enhance visitors’ entry experience, exterior “rooms” minimize the impact of the service drive and accentuate the view of the great lawn.
