North Carolina History Center

After developing a master plan for Tryon Palace, QEA served as design architect, collaborating with architect-of-record BJAC, for this new 60,000 SF museum facility. Working within the framework and context of the historic town as well as the industrial character of the waterfront site, the new facility serves as orientation center, museum and educational complex for the 22-acre historic site. The far reaching design not only knits together building and landscape to create a visitor-experience-driven project, but utilizes advanced and sustainable technologies.
