Dana Building, School of Natural Resources & Environment

QEA oversaw the state-of-the-art green renovation of this facility that serves as a centerpiece of the University’s historic core. Our transformation expanded the building in place by more than 25%, creating new classrooms, labs, common areas and offices, and a new fourth floor. We also introduced natural ventilation, radiant-chilled ceiling panels and energy-efficient systems. Reuse was a priority too — the building’s load-bearing brick walls, over 200 doors and old-growth pine timbers from the original roof structure were recycled back into the remodeled building.
