Our appreciation for history is a hallmark of our practice. To explore the past, however, we not only rely on our knowledge of traditional construction and historic building systems but on the most advanced technology available in the architectural profession today.
Contemporary tools, including GIS, LiDAR, drone imagery, thermal imagery, laser scans, and tablets, enable us to document and assess the existing conditions of sites and buildings efficiently and from perspectives never before possible. Our work is informed by hygro-thermal analysis, thermal modeling, computation fluid dynamics, and energy modeling, which provide important clues about the integrity and future performance of building envelopes. Building information modeling programs allow us to analyze systems and materials carefully and integrate complex designs. Supported by these exceptional resources, we strive to preserve the past while creating a viable future for our clients’ historic properties.
