The Michigan Historic Preservation Network has awarded the City of Ypsilanti and the Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse with a joint Government/Institution Award at the annual conference in Petoskey.

Quinn Evans Architects is proud to have taken part in this historically meaningful project and would like to congratulate both organizations in their efforts and their dedication to history and preservation.
Project Manager Jennifer Henriksen, AIA and architect Elizabeth Roach, AIA, LEED AP, worked on the renovation of the historic property. The project included interior improvements such as new restrooms, updated building systems, and life safety upgrades required to re-open the building for community use.

"This event space provides a historic setting for many resident and civic group meetings, a lovely and desirable wedding venue, and a perfect marketplace for vendors to showcase their wares. The community has waited a long time to once again enjoy this piece of Ypsilanti history."
Beth Ernat
Director of Economic Development, City of Ypsilanti
