I presented today at QEA's Heritage Conservation Studio lunchtime seminar on "Understanding a Building: The Michigan State Capitol." My presentation focused on how we are constantly developing our investigative strategies to better understand the structures we work on. The tools we employ allow us to be more efficient and to work with increasing accuracy. Among these tools, it has been the experience of our high caliber staff that proves invaluable to the work we do. Rummaging around in the basement archives helps too.
