Elisabeth Knibbe, FAIA was awarded the Michigan Historic Preservation Network's 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Knibbe received the award as recognition for her 30 year career, which has focused on using historic preservation to create economically viable, strong, and beautiful communities.  
Over the years, Lis has become a key player in the redevelopment of Detroit and other economically depressed communities through historic preservation. Her projects demonstrate the feasibility of adapting vacant and underutilized buildings and encourage others to do the same.
