The District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office / Office of Planning and the DC Preservation League recognized three Quinn Evans Architects' projects among the total of 11 awards given as part of the Annual Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation Thursday, May 15 at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall. Honored were Yuma Study Center, the Lay Light Restoration at the DAR Reading Room, and the Sherman Building.

Design & Construction Award
 
The restoration of the extraordinary skylight roof consisting of 25 leaded glass panels in the 1905 Memorial Continental Hall, oldest building in the National Historic Landmark complex. The award was presented to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Quinn Evans Architects, The Christman Company, Femenella & Associates, Inc., and Hutchinson United Rigging. Yuma Study Center 
Design and Construction Award
 
Located in the historic 1928 Convent of Bon Secours, 4101 Yuma Street, NW, the renovation and tasteful expansion of this Tenleytown signature landmark resulted in LEED Gold Certification for this project. The award was presented to the following parties responsible for this project: Yuma Study Center, Quinn Evans Architects, Forrester Construction Company, AtSite, Inc., and the Tenleytown Historical Society. Sherman Building 
State Historic Preservation Officer's Award</b> 
Restoration and repair of extensive masonry and structural damage from the August 2011 East Coast Earthquake at the 1852-1891 signature National Historic Landmark on the campus of the Armed Forces Retirement Home -Washington involved time-tested masonry and cutting-edge 21st century technology. The award will be presented to the following parties responsible for this project: Armed Forces Retirement Home - Washington, Quinn Evans Architects, The Christman Company, R. Bratti Associates, Inc., Hayes & Howe, Keast & Hood Company, Oak Grove Restoration Company, and PRESERV/scapes Consulting, LLC.
