For more than three decades, Wnuk Spurlock Architecture has been a leader in the Washington design community.

Joseph Wnuk, who passed away in March, was a generous and well-respected architect and a champion of civic causes. Steven Spurlock, FAIA, managing partner for Wnuk Spurlock for many years, has been a dedicated advocate for our profession at the local and national levels while overseeing award-winning projects, mentoring young architects, and contributing his time and talent to numerous community causes.
Today, I am pleased to announce that the Wnuk Spurlock design team of Steven Spurlock, Melissa Gobrecht, AIA, and Sarah Lindner is joining the Washington, D.C., office of Quinn Evans Architects. This exceptional group of architects brings deep experience in cultural, institutional, residential, commercial, and historic preservation projects to QEA—an ideal complement to our practice and areas of specialization.

"I have long admired Steven Spurlock’s commitment to our profession through his leadership in the American Institute of Architects and the Washington Architectural Foundation."

Like QEA’s Carl Elefante, FAIA, who will lead the national AIA as president in 2018, Steven has worked tirelessly to advance the profession of architecture and contribute to the betterment of our natural and built environment.
Steven, Melissa, and Sarah will formally join our practice on November 1. We welcome their passion for design and inspired and energetic approach to client service. With many of our largest and most complex projects now underway in the QEA studios in Washington, DC, Michigan, and Wisconsin, we look forward to a busy and productive holiday season and an exciting new year.
