Bob’s interest in architecture and construction was piqued in childhood as he watched the expansion of his neighborhood in the field behind his house; from the layout and installation of the underground infrastructure and roads through to the interior finishes of the new houses. He learned much by observing and from the tradesmen who patiently explained their work. While his professional experience is broad, he particularly enjoys adaptive reuse projects which are often more environmentally and culturally responsible than entirely new construction. Bob believes that through adaptation of existing architecture we acknowledge our respect for the talented professionals and craftsmen who have preceded us and demonstrate the story of our evolving society.
