Karin aspires to design spaces that are both beautiful and have a sense of utility; she views buildings as living things that are functional for users. A project with a high degree of cultural ownership and multiple stakeholders is most rewarding when it is able to fulfill the end user’s vision. The process of realizing the community’s ideas and distilling a client’s expectations is what gives Karin's work currency, significance and depth. She is drawn to the opportunity to do work that is deeply meaningful to both the architect and the community.
