Kylan Shirley is an accomplished architect whose skills range from design and advanced building information modeling to the expert management of project budgets and schedules. As the son of an architect, he has been immersed in the design and construction fields throughout his life, leading to his deep appreciation for the role of architecture in building stronger communities.
Kylan has played a key role in the design of many major libraries and educational facility projects, including both new construction and complex renovations and modernizations. He is a frequent speaker on trends in the planning and design of libraries and learning environments. Away from the office, Kylan serves on the board of a charter school focused on an integrated science and arts education.
“I’m passionate about renovation projects that are transformative—not just for the building itself but as a catalyst for change. Transforming space within a school can help change pedagogies and practices. New methods of teaching and learning become possible that could not have been imagined before.”
