Susan aspires to connect context and community in her projects through a combination of preservation, design, and sustainability. She sees design as a moment in time that strikes a beautiful balance between an inventive gesture and technical integrity. She finds excitement in solving puzzles, and is most interested in conceiving two-dimensional ideas and executing them into three-dimensional experiences. Her extracurricular involvement includes leadership in sustainability organizations like the DC Living Building Challenge Collaborative, a group she founded and facilitates. In this important role, Susan uses sustainability to inspire, initiate, and promote social responsibility and awareness within communities.
