Colorado State Capitol Dome
Denver, Colorado
Heritage
 Project

The cast iron tower and gilded, gold-plated dome rise above the Colorado State Capitol, serving as an emblem for Colorado’s citizens and state government. In need of repair and restoration, our preservation experts combined traditional construction techniques with contemporary building technologies to restore the original structure and to ensure the dome’s protection. Our team of designers and preservationists applied the appropriate care, sensitivity and requisite historic expertise to the Capitol’s comprehensive repair and restoration. The 1890’s Elijah E. Meyers-designed dome and historic landmark is returned to its former glory and will serve as a beacon for visitors, residents, and the State for years to come.
