French Ambassador’s Residence
Washington, DC
Heritage
 Project

The renovation and renewal of this stately diplomatic residence enable it to house and serve its complex functions from politics to large format social entertaining. Creating a setting befitting its grandeur, our solution artfully celebrates and modernizes the home’s historic character by enhancing ornate architectural detailing and artfully integrating new engineering systems. New decorative painting and color schemes create fresh, contemporary living spaces transforming the feel of the grand spaces and providing the perfect backdrop for both formal dining and entertaining in the Empire Salon and Dining Room. The Winter Salon and the reconfigured second- and third-floor quarters provide comfortable, yet intimate, spaces for residents and their guests along with well-appointed modern amenities.
