 Project

To accommodate the need for 21st century education and improved student life, our team transformed a historic residential hall into a modern, state-of-the-art classroom building and student services center. The renovation of Ames Hall resulted in a vibrant hub of student life with an inspiring mix of educational and social experiences. The renewed building is a source of pride and a new gateway to the Mount Vernon campus. To support collaborative learning, we transformed the building into a high-performance environment, featuring an array of academic classrooms and lecture halls, and break-out spaces. A central gallery unifies and connects the old and the new at the heart of the building. Contemporary systems and learning technologies revitalize the building’s spaces and expand the academic offerings for students.

The Solution

“I envision an ever-increasing level of intellectual energy that will now come here with the students and faculty interacting, and much of that will happen right here in Ames Hall.”
