Master planning efforts for Lewis Hall led to the phased renovation of the School of Law Library at Washington and Lee University. Our team transformed the Hall’s largest tenant into a vibrant university hub, inviting students to connect through the nurturing of public discourse. Focused on enriching student engagement, we created new, collaborative “communities” within the space to create a shared learning and collaborative study environment. The renewed building has consolidated collections and provides multiple learning and gathering options that encourage social interaction and information exchange. Combining classic study carrels with seminar rooms and the latest technology, collaborative “communities” support a variety of student study interaction and engagement.
