The Greenest Building Is One That’s Already Built
Stewardship and sustainability are core ethics that embody every QEA project, our workplace and our relationships. Approximately three-quarters of our professional staff are LEED accredited, and our principals have played lead roles in establishing USGBC chapters in both the National Capital Region and Michigan. We’re also trailblazers; we received USGBC’s first-ever LEED Gold project certification for an existing college and university facility - the University of Michigan's S.T. Dana Building - in 2005, and designed the District of Columbia government’s first LEED Silver certified building, Lamond Recreation Center. Our renewal of H.D. Cooke Elementary School was awarded Gold certification under LEED for Schools and is the first public school in the Washington, DC to earn this distinction. We relentlessly pursue ways to improve the environmental performance of the existing building stock and build a sustainable future.
