The renovation and expansion of a former basketball arena created Jones-Hill House, a training and recovery hub for the University of Maryland’s student-athletes. Strength training, sports medicine, and dining facilities serve all Terrapin athletes; additional football-specific spaces include an indoor practice facility, locker room, player and recruiting lounges, staff offices, and position meeting rooms.

We designed the facility’s interiors, which draw on Maryland imagery and materials. In addition to UMD branding, custom finishes throughout the building incorporate the Maryland state flag, reclaimed barn wood, and patterns reminiscent of sail cloth and terrapin shells. The result is a dynamic environment for student-athlete recruitment and performance.
