 Project

Heritage Hall will create space for large events, provide safer Capitol access for tour groups and increase tourism in downtown Lansing. Realizing the potential of this new public space, our team interconnects old with new to orchestrate the relationship between individual experience and common heritage. Drawing from expertise in historic preservation, we conceived an enduring design for Heritage Hall that connects people from all backgrounds to their shared history and the contemporary legislative process. The new underground visitor center is visually connected to the historic Michigan State Capitol, creating a harmonious whole that welcomes, educates, and inspires. The new space features an accessible 600-person assembly space and will deliver modern amenities surrounded by orientation and gathering areas to encourage public meeting and discourse.
