Our “Quinnterns” gained real-world experience—on site, in meetings, and at events—with work you won’t find in a classroom.

Whether they were out on site visits, collaborating in meetings, or participating in office events, our “Quinnterns” got hands-on experience with the kind of work you won't find in a classroom.

This year’s intern cohort hailed from schools across the country, including Cornell University, Kent State University, Old Dominion University, Tulane University, University of Detroit Mercy, University of Maryland, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, and University of Virginia.

Before heading back to class, a few of our 2025 Quinnterns shared some highlights from their time with us. Hear from Emma Lindley, Elliot Nielander, Osiel Aldaba, Megan Kelly, Blake Arrendell, Zaynab Alhisnawi, and Julia Drooff in the video below.

It has been wonderful having them here this summer, and we wish them all the best as they head back to school!

Video Transcript

EMMA LINDLEY

During my time as a Quinntern, I had the opportunity to work on a lot of stuff that you don't typically learn in school. I got to work on a couple different interviews, work in construction administration, go on site visits, and even work with consultants.

ELLIOT NIELANDER

I decided to intern at Quinn Evans because of their focus on adaptive reuse and historical preservation. It was inspiring to visit projects and see how they had such a positive impact on their surrounding communities.

OSIEL ALDABA

My favorite experience as a Quinntern has been going on a hard hat tour of one of our projects. It was great to hear firsthand some of the design choices that Quinn Evans made and see them come to life.

MEGAN KELLY

A new experience I had at Quinn Evans was visiting a job site for a historical preservation project. I really enjoyed it, and it was a really great and valuable experience for me.

BLAKE ARRENDELL

My favorite part of my internship has been the amount of variety in my experiences. I've been able to consistently visit and tour my team's job site, visit manufacturers, work on sustainability documentation, design proposals, and more.

ZAYNAB ALHISNAWI

My time at Quinn Evans has been super informative and engaging. I'm grateful for the people I got to meet as well as the opportunities to work on multiple projects throughout different phases.

JULIA DROOFF

The culture of mentorship is truly unmatched. Whether you're working with a designer or a principal, everyone is approachable, collaborative, and genuinely invested in helping me grow as a designer.

EMMA LINDLEY

As a Quinntern, I was incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a group of talented designers who were very willing to help me, to answer my questions, and to work with me on whatever I needed. I cannot recommend this Quinnternship enough.
