In an article for Connections, the quarterly journal of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Young Architects Forum, Quinn Evans designer Saakshi Terway, Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate, examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping creative and professional fields.
Her piece titled, “The Ethics of AI in Creative Practice,” uses the viral trend of Studio Ghibli–style AI renderings as a case study to explore and raise questions about where the line is between legal and ethical use, what authorship means in the age of generative models, and how these tools are beginning to shape the design profession. Saakshi emphasizes that responsible design extends beyond buildings to the tools we use to create them and calls for ethical frameworks to guide the profession in this evolving digital landscape.
