Shannon Wray, CID, LEED AP, principal, is featured in the CBS Evening News Moms in Focus segment with Barbara Weedman, Director of Henrico County Public Library, highlighting the viral Fairfield Parent+Child Carrel.

Designed in collaboration with TMC Furniture, the workstations gained international popularity when Ali Faruk, Policy Director of Families Forward Virginia, tweeted a photo of the workstations gaining over 240,000 likes and 30,000 retweets.

Wray discusses the popular Parent+Child Carrel at the Fairfield Library that allows adults to work at a computer station while young children are entertained in a connecting play area specifically designed for their needs. This optimizes focus time for adults, enabling them to complete work while their child is safely contained in a stimulating environment. In the Fairfield Area Library, there are four of the custom workstations, now branded as “The Fairfield” by TMC.

This news segment is the latest in a long string of news stories about this unique design feature. Watch the full Moms in Focus segment.
