Quinn Evans congratulates Steven Spurlock, FAIA, LEED AP, on his retirement after nearly five decades dedicated to design, service, and mentorship.

Steven joined Quinn Evans in 2016 through the acquisition of Wnuk Spurlock Architecture, bringing with him tremendous experience across residential, cultural, diplomatic, and historic preservation projects. Over the years, his work ranged from nationally significant structures like the Lincoln Memorial and the Embassy of Estonia to smaller residential and community projects. No matter the project size, Steven always approached each project with the same passion, care, and attention to detail.

For decades, Steven has made a difference as a citizen architect: connecting artists, musicians, and civic-minded clients through architectural practice and professional advocacy. The results are wonderful collaborations with outcomes that will be felt for decades to come. We will miss you, Steven!
ALYSON STEELE, FAIA, LEED AP | QUINN EVANS PRESIDENT & CEO

Steven earned his Bachelor of Architecture with distinction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and studied at the Architectural Association in London. Throughout his career, he paired design practice with sustained professional service, which led to leadership roles within the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He served as president of the AIA Washington, DC chapter and continues to serve in national leadership through the AIA College of Fellows, where he is currently Vice Chancellor and on track to become Chancellor in 2027.

As he steps into retirement, Steven looks forward to spending time serving the AIA College of Fellows, continuing his involvement with nonprofit and preservation organizations, playing the cello, and traveling more.
