Wadiah Akbar, AIA, LFA, has been selected to serve as Secretary of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Baltimore Chapter beginning in 2026.

Akbar has been actively involved with AIA Baltimore throughout her career, including serving as co-chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee. In her new role, she will continue to lead within the organization, building on her previous service as a director on the board. Her continued service in the chapter greatly reflects her commitment to professional leadership, supporting the pipeline of emerging architects, and her own ongoing professional development within the Baltimore architecture community.
