We transformed a former church into a vibrant community resource center and program space for the Peace Neighborhood Center, a social services nonprofit based in Ann Arbor that wanted to expand its offerings in nearby Ypsilanti.

The new facility houses a food pantry, commercial kitchen, and flexible multipurpose rooms where the Center and partner organizations serve weekly community meals, host events, and provide activities for youth and seniors. Maximizing a limited budget, our design activates the existing building while preserving its essential character, living up to the Center’s intention to create a space for Healing, Unifying, and Building.
