Traditional Building magazine recognizes Tom Jester, FAIA, FAPT, LEED AP, principal and chief operating officer at Quinn Evans, as one of the “25 Leaders: Top Caretakers of Architectural Traditions.” The feature highlights professionals who have spent their careers helping to preserve and improve traditional architecture through design, education, and craftsmanship.
Tom has been a key contributor and a national leader in historic preservation and has led many of Quinn Evans’ most challenging projects. Some of his notable projects include the modernization of the National Academy of Sciences, the renovation of Old City Hall in Richmond, Virginia, and the renewal of the Arvonne Fraser Library in Minneapolis.
Working on the preservation and renewal of significant civic buildings requires a rigor and ability to actively listen to the building and the client. Our goal is always to develop design solutions that balance what makes these buildings significant while making them work for today’s needs.
