Quinn Evans, a leading national design firm, has promoted Angela Wyrembelski, Chris Ambridge, Devan Anderson, John Whitaker, Nakita Reed, Ryan McEnroe, and Steve Schwenk to associate principal.

Angela Wyrembelski, AIA, is a preservation architecture expert who combines historic masonry and building envelope expertise with an understanding of building technology. She joined Quinn Evans in 2016 and has 15 years of experience. Her projects include the rehabilitation of Detroit’s Michigan Central Station and the renovation and expansion of the Ann Arbor Municipal Center. She is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology and a board member of the Grosse Pointe Artists Association. Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College.

Chris Ambridge, AIA, is a skilled project manager and designer with more than 20 years of experience. Chris brings a passion for the comprehensive design of education spaces. His award-winning portfolio includes transformative renovations of existing and historic K-12 facilities, many of them for District of Columbia Public Schools. He joined Quinn Evans in 2024 and is currently working on the modernization of DC’s Burroughs Elementary School. Chris holds a Diploma in Architecture and Master of Architecture from Cambridge University. He currently serves on AIA|DC’s Committee on Architecture for Education.

Devan Anderson, AIA, has led numerous historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects, skillfully balancing preservation with modern elements to support contemporary needs. Since joining Quinn Evans in 2019 he has played pivotal roles in the renewal of Michigan Central Station, the 920 on the Park senior community, and the recently reopened Dearborn Inn. Devan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy and has 26 years of experience. He is a past president of Preservation Detroit and currently serves on the Michigan State Historic Preservation Review Board and the board of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network.

John Whitaker, AIA, specializes in preservation technology and historic building documentation. With 28 years of experience (25 of them at Quinn Evans), John has contributed to some of the firm’s highest-profile projects, including rehabilitations of Arlington Memorial Bridge, Richmond’s Old City Hall, and the National Academy of Sciences, as well as the ongoing modernization of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum. John is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology and National Trust for Historic Preservation. He holds a Master of Architecture and Certificate in Historic Preservation from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Miami University.

Nakita Reed, AIA, CPHC, LEED AP BD+C, NOMA, works at the intersection of historic preservation, sustainable design, and equity. With 20 years of experience, she has engaged in transformative redevelopments including the conversion of the Baltimore’s 210 East Lexington office building into a shelter and social services hub and the revitalization of Baltimore Penn Station. Nakita is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, for which she serves on the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Advisory Committee, and the Association for Preservation Technology. She is also a co-chair of the of the Zero Net Carbon Collaboration for Existing and Historic Buildings and a past president of the Baltimore Architecture Foundation. Nakita holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (2006) from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. She joined Quinn Evans in 2019.

Ryan McEnroe, FAIA, ASLA, LEED AP, CDT, is both an architect and landscape architect, giving him a holistic perspective on the interplay between building and site. He joined Quinn Evans in 2016 and has contributed to the design of the Bird House at the National Zoological Park and the award-winning National Native American Veterans Memorial at the National Museum of the American Indian, both in Washington, DC, for the Smithsonian Institution. Ryan was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2023. With 18 years of experience, he is a member of the National Architectural Accrediting Board and is a co-founder of AIA|DC’s Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Arizona State University as well as a Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Architecture and Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia.

Steve Schwenk, AIA, LEED AP, is known as a critical thinker who distills complicated design issues into clear paths forward. With more than 20 years of experience, he excels at expanding existing buildings and creating new facilities within historic contexts. His projects include the College of Business at Coppin State University, Jones-Hill House at the University of Maryland, and an addition to the Hylton Performing Arts Center for George Mason University. Steve is a member of the Society of College and University Planners. He holds a Master of Architecture from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University.
