SENIOR ASSOCIATES

Marisa Allen, AIA, LEED AP, focuses on the renovation of historic cultural facilities, with an emphasis on sustainability and accessibility. Since joining Quinn Evans in 2010, Marisa has contributed to the design of the new Lincoln Memorial Museum; the renovation of the Bird House at the National Zoo; and the renovation of National Museum of Natural History South Entrance, all in Washington, DC. Marisa is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums and the American Public Gardens Association. She holds a Master of Architecture, Certificate in Urban Design, and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland.

Kelly Gawinek, AIA, revitalizes existing buildings to help communities thrive. In her five years at Quinn Evans, Kelly’s projects have included the restoration of the Basilica of Sainte Anne de Détroit bell towers in Detroit, Michigan, and multiple projects at Eastern Michigan University, including the renovation of the College of Business at Pierce Hall. She holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Design Research from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture/Environmental Design from Bowling Green State University. Kelly is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology and the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and a former secretary of the Huron Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Nick Knodt, AIA, is inspired by architecture’s role at the intersection of tradition and modernity, art and science, and craft and industry. Since joining Quinn Evans in 2019, he has focused on the modernization and expansion of two historic federal buildings on the National Mall in Washington, DC, which he has been involved with from conceptual design to construction administration. Nick holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from the College of Wooster. He is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology and the International Living Future Institute.

Julia Manglitz, AIA, LEED AP, APT RP, joined Quinn Evans in 2023, bringing more than 25 years of experience in historic preservation and project management. In her time at Quinn Evans, Julia has worked on exterior restoration projects for the Architect of the Capitol and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita, Kansas, and the reimagining of the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina. Julia holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas. She currently serves as the president of the Association for Preservation Technology International.

During her 15 years with Quinn Evans, Karin Neubauer, AIA, Fitwel Amb., has contributed to many community-centered projects in Michigan, including the revitalization of Detroit’s Michigan Central Station, renovations at multiple locations of the Grosse Pointe Public Library, and the ongoing modernization of Slauson Middle School in Ann Arbor. She serves as the continuing education director for the AIA’s Huron Valley chapter and acted as Quinn Evans’ representative on the steering committee for the Building EJ Tool. Karin holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the AIA’s Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program.
ASSOCIATES

Claire Antrassian, AIA, specializes in historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects that amplify community narratives and voices. She has played key roles on our revitalizations of two massive defunct train stations: Michigan Central Station in Detroit and the ongoing transformation of Buffalo Central Terminal in Buffalo, New York. Claire started her career at Quinn Evans as a Challenge Detroit Fellow and has now been with the firm for eight years. She holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, where she has served as an adjunct professor and on the alumni board.

Since joining Quinn Evans in 2024, Anna Epperson has lent her expertise in architecture and historic preservation to several projects for state and national parks, including repairs to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina, the rehabilitation of the landscape at Split Rock Lighthouse in Minnesota, and the renovation of Sugarlands Headquarters at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Anna served on the Ann Arbor Historic District Commission for five years, including one year as the chair. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.

Sarah Goff, AIA, WELL AP, has been with Quinn Evans for seven years. During this time, she has been a key contributor to the modernization and expansion of two historic federal buildings on the National Mall in Washington, DC—which is on track to become Quinn Evans’ first WELL certified project. A member of the AIA|DC Women in Architecture and Design Committee, Sarah is committed to mentorship and developing the next generation of architects and historic preservationists. She holds a Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Historic Preservation and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Kentucky and is a graduate of the AIA’s Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program.

Evan Greulich, AIA, CPHC, brings a passion for sustainable design and buildings’ potential to be healthy, equitable, and transformative community spaces. In his four years with Quinn Evans, Evan has worked on The Hammond at Greenmount Park and Johnston Square Branch Library, a first-in-the-state co-located library and affordable housing development in Baltimore, Maryland; the renovation of Burroughs Elementary School in Washington, DC; and a career and technical education-focused addition to Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Middle East Studies from Dartmouth College.

Kelly M. Haley, AIA, LFA, began her architectural career as a “Quinntern” and has now been with Quinn Evans full-time for seven years. Kelly’s key efforts include the ongoing modernization and expansion of two historic federal buildings on the National Mall in Washington, DC, and a digital twin for the Michigan State Capitol. Kelly holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Architectural Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology International and serves on its Technical Committee on Documentation.

Byronaé Lewis, CID, Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate, also began as a Quinntern. Since joining Quinn Evans full-time in 2021, she has played key roles on the renovation of Brookfield Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia, and the modernization and expansion of two historic federal buildings on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Byronaé is a member of the National Organizational of Minority Architects and the American Society of Interior Designers and was an Interior Design 30/30 Program honoree in 2025. She holds a Master of Architecture from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architectural Design from James Madison University.
